Individual Titles Push LHS to Third at State Wrestling
Just a quick wrap up on the wrestling season. We qualified ten wrestlers for the state tournament and seven of the ten placed in the top six. Placing for the Lions were Tristan Star 4th, Garrett Girard 6th, Caden Lynch 5th, Nick Pursel 6th, and Brad Wilson 2nd. Winning State titles for the Lions were Hunter Haralson and Reece Wright-Conklin. This is Reece's third State title and is a four time placer, placing 5th his freshman year. Wrestlers qualifying for the state tournament were Ryan Walter, Alex Jones, and Macon Ezell. Nick, Hunter, and Reece have all top 100 wins for their career.
The Junior Varsity also had a great year with a over all winning percentage of 75%.
Reece will also represent team Kansas in the Metro Classic. The Metro Classic is a dual between Kansas and Missouri all stars. The dual is March 6 at 6pm at KCKCC in Kansas City. If you would like to go, Reece has tickets for $8. If you think the KU/ MU game was intense, you should experience this dual. |
